Officially formed in 1946, Doutta Stars entered a team into the Senior Grade of the Essendon District Football League.This team consisted mainly of young men returning from services in the war. The club went on to have immediate success, reaching the grand final in their opening season.

The club has gone on to have many years of success which includes 18 A Grade / Premier Division Premierships (1948-49-50-51-53-54-57-59-61-62-63-64-69-72-80-90-91-99), 2 B Grade Premierships (1998-2015)

Today our Senior Mens Team is well supported by the local community and juniors at the club. The results are evident when you see how many juniors are showing up to watch their senior cohorts play on a Saturday afternoon at Nipper Jordan oval. In 2025 we were proud to watch our U18.5 team make it to the Premier Grand Final .
